HISTORY

Toru is the leader of a band of vampires who got Dracula drunk and convinced him to gamble his secret abilities for a motorcycle. Now able toturn into a variety of different animals as well as fog, the Japanese goth vampire gang executed a raid on the Slayer headquarters in Scotland, where they successfully stole Buffy's Scythe.

With the enchanted Scythe, Toru returned to Tokyo where he would reverse the spell that granted the Slayers their abilities using a gigantic lens as a focal point. Counting on Buffy and her Slayers to follow, Toru and his men ambushed Buffy's squad, killing Xander's girlfriend Renee in the melee. Buffy managed to get the upper hand by using Dracula's Sword, which had been enchanted by demons and likened to the Slayer Scythe, to remove the mystical powers that the vampires possessed. Toru himself was bested by Dracula in combat, but the killing blow was given to Xander, who beheaded Toru down to avenge the death of Renee.

POWERS + WEAKNESSES

Toru has the usual powers and weaknesses of a vampire, in addition to the ability to transmorgify into any night animal of his choosing or fog.

He also has some of the vulnerabilities of a Buffyverse vampire: direct sunlight will cause combustion that will kill him if he stays out in the sun's rays for more than a few seconds. In addition, certain objects of religious significance to Christians -- specifically Bibles, crucifixes, and holy water -- can burn his flesh.
