HISTORY

The history of the Stinger is unknown, other than the fact that two generations before it ventured to Sunnydale, it faced another Slayer and her watcher, who Giles is a descendant of. The Stinger preys on humans who take pleasure in inducing fear on others, and is able to track them based on the cruel scent that the bullies emit. While residing in Sunnydale, it was woken up by Sunnydale's local bully, Joe Burgess, who challenged Xander Harris to a pummeling after the football game that night. While Xander was man enough to show up that night and have his spleen fed to him, Joe dropped out, instead deciding to take a girl up to the makeout point, but sent his friend Andy Busnell to beat up Xander for him. Unfortunately for Andy, the Stinger had been waiting for Joe to show up and attacked Andy, mistaking him for Joe. Feeding on Andy, Stinger realized that he wasn't Joe, and departed to track down Burgess, leaving Xander speechless. Stinger found Joe, but was interrupted by Buffy and her friends, who managed to kill Stinger in a group effort.
