To commemorate its tenth anniversary, IDW Publishing is releasing a two-volume hardcover in May, 2009 called IDW: The First Decade. The book offers an oral history of the company, as told by the many talented individuals who contributed to IDW over the years. Volume 1 is currently available online. Buffy Season Eight, Whedon Wins Fan Awards
Wizard #211 Platinum EditionWizard Magazine #211 Platinum Edition celebrated the 2009 Fan Awards:

Buffy Season Eight won "Favorite Licensed Comic," while Buffy herself beat out Emma Frost by eight votes to win the crown for "Favorite Heroine".

Joss Whedon's Giant-Size Astonishing X-Men won "Favorite Single Issue". Laura Martin won "Favorite Colorist" for Astonishing X-Men.

Scott Allie revealed on the Dark Horse Buffy Zone blog that Sarin accepted Dillon's proposal, which was originally published in Buffy #22's letter column.

Buffy: Wolves at the Gate TPB was announced this week as a New York Times Best Seller, coming in at no. 9.

Diamond released the February 2009 Sales Charts, with Buffy Season Eight #22 coming in at no. 12, while Angel #17 and #18 took 51st and 53rd place respectively.

The book is unique in that it is printed on thick, uncoated stock with only snow-white and blood-red colors utilized and played up against John Byrne's tight pencils.

Angel #23 by Franco UrruAngel #23 "Gunn" Cover Revealed
Brian Lynch posted Franco Urru's black and white cover art for Angel #23 on his blog. Click Here to view the cover full size. The issue will explain how Gunn woke up from his coma and was moving about in last week's Angel Aftermath #18.

Lynch also announced that Spike: Shadow Puppets TPB has sold out and will get a second printing.

Buffy Season 8 News: Daniel Osbourne Alert
More information about Jane Espenson's "Oz" story arc beginning in Buffy Season Eight #26 was revealed at the Wonder Con 09: Dark Horse Panel: "The next story arc revolves around "slayers being outlaws and trying to regroup since vampires took charge during the reality show that took place in the last arc", said Atkins. Along with that tidbit of information regarding the main Buffy series, a Tales of the Vampire one shot was announced coming this July, which will essentially be a vampire love story set in season eight of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The book will still be written by Peter David and art by JK Woodward (who will also provide a cover for the first issue, alongside the already-shown Franco Urru cover).
