COSTUME #9 The Joker, Harley Quinn -- 1999 Batman: Detective Comics#741 pencilled by Damion Scott Distinguishing costume features: -green wig -orange polyester shirt -pinstriped purple polyester pants -purple overcoat -black shoes (with spats) -santa claus hat (not shown in picture) -red and black harlequin suit (initially hidden underneath Joker clothing) -black eye mask (hidden underneath clown makeup) -ruffles on wrists and neck (hidden) -black and red gloves (hidden) Near the end of the No Man's Land saga, the Joker decided to kill all the children born during this period. Quinn dressed up as the Joker, threw Batman off the Joker's trail, leaving Sarah Essen, Commissioner Gordon's wife, to confront the real Joker alone in Gordon's police headquarters. While saving a baby from a dangerous drop to a hard floor, she was shot and killed. Gordon restrained himself from killing the Joker, opting only to shoot out his knee.
